FREDERICK L. SCHUMAN has taught at the University of Chicago, Williams, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell and California and is the author of International Politics (fifth edition, 1953), The Commonwealth of Man (New York, 1952; London, 1954) and other works. His Soviet Politics at Home and Abroad will appear in a Japanese translation this fall.
