Taxation Before 1914

DONALD L. KEMMERER has taught at the University of Illinois since 1937. He served as economic advisor to the Republican party platform committee in 1944, to the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1945 and to the Investors Management Company, Inc., since 1950. Published works include: The Path of Freedom (1940), revisions of E. D. Bogart’s Economic History of the American People (1942, 1947) and a revision of his father’s book, ABC of the Federal Reserve System.
