J. F. BELL is a Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois. He was chief economist in the Wool and Woolens Unit of the O.P.A. during World War II, and a member of the Illinois Post-War Planning Commission, 1944-1945. His History of Economic Thought was published by the Ronald Press in 1953.
