J. F. BELL is a Professor of Economies at the University o f Illinois. He was chief economist in the Wool and Woolens Unit of the O.P.A. during World War II, and a member o f the Illinois Post-War Planning Commission 1944-45. His History o f Economic Thought was published by the Ronald Press in 1953.
