Chitoshi Yanaga, Director of Graduate Studies on Eastern Asia at Yale, served with the United States Government from 1942 to 1946 as Far Eastern Adviser, research analyst, and chief of a speeial research section. Before he joined the faculty of Yale in 1945, Mr. Yanaga taught at the University of California, the University of Denver, and the University of Chicago. A United States citizen born in Hawaii, he received his Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of California. Among his published works are Japan Since Perry (1949), and articles in encyclopedias and learned journals.
