Everett D. Hawkins was an exchange teacher in China from 1927 to 1929. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton in 1934, where he taught the following year. Since 1935 he has been at Mount Holyoke. In 1942-44 he was Section Head of the O.P.A.’s Rubber Branch; in 1944-46 he was Director of Information with the O.WI, in Chungking, Hankow and Mukden; in 1951-52 he was with the Mutual Security Administration in Djakarta as Program Planning Officer, and last year he was in Washington as Chief of the Indonesian Branch of the F.O.A.
