E. C. HELMREICHholds his Ph.D. from Harvard University; since 1931, he has been teaching at Bowdoin, first as instructor (1931-1932), then as Assistant Professor (1932-1940) and Associate Professor (1940-1946); and, since then, as a full professor. Among his published works are The Diplomacy of the Balkan Wars 1912-1913 and Twentieth Century Europe: A History (with C. E. Black).
