WILLIAM G. CARLETON, Chairman of Social Sciences in the University College (University of Florida), spent the summers of 1950 and 1951 studying conditions in Europe. He was a speaker for the Democratic National Committee in 1928, 1932 and 1936 and during the Second World War he spoke in army camps all over the country under the auspices of the War Department. He has written frequently on domestic and international politics fo r learned and literary journals.
