N. S. TIMASHEFF, a Russian-born naturalized American, has been Professor of Sociology at Fordham University for the past 13 years. His teaching experience includes the School of Economics of the Polytechnic Institute in St, Petersburg (from 1916 to 1921); the University of Prague, the Sorbonne, and Harvard University. Among his 13 published boohs two, Religion in Soviet Russia (1942) and The Great Retreat (1946) are devoted to the study of Communist Russia. He received his LL.D. from the University of St. Petersburg in 1914.
