The Geographic Setting

FREDERICK L. SCHUMAN is the author of The Commonwealth of Man: An Inquiry Into Power Politics and World Government, published last October. The fifth edition of his International Politics was published in the spring. He received his Ph.D. in 1924 from the University of Chicago, where he taught from 1927 to 1932. Since then, he has been teaching at Williams College. The author of many books and articles, Dr. Schuman during World War II was a foreign broadcaster in the Intelligence Service.
