EDWARD HALLETT CARR is engaged at present on a history of Soviet Russia, of which the first three volumes have been published under the title The Bolshevik Revolution 1917-1923. Mr. Carr served in the British Foreign Office and Diplomatic Service from 1916 to 1986. From 1986 to 1947, he was Wilson Professor of International Politics at University College of Wales. During the Second World War, he acted as assistant editor of The Times (London). Among his published works are The Twenty Tears’ Crisis and The Soviet Impact on the Western World.
