EDWIN S. MUNGER, presently Staff Associate in Africa of the Institute of Current World Affairs, has spent the past eight years studying significant political, economic and social developments in Africa South of the Sahara. His four trips to Africa have totalled more than four years, and he has lived in every major region. Dr. Hunger received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
