DR. VACLAV E. MARES worked for 18 years with the coal, steel and cement industry in Central Europe. For six of these years he also taught industrial economics part-time at the School of Business in Prague. From 19!t6 to 19i8 he served with the Ministry for Foreign Trade as a commercial adviser to the Czech Embassy in Washington, D. C., and as economic adviser to the Czech delegation to the United Nations.
