J. J. ANJARIA received his M.A. from the Bombay University in 1931 and his M.Sc. in Economics from the London University in 1936. He was Assistant Chief, Department of Research, for the International Monetary Ftind in Washington, 1946-1948, and Director of Monetary Research at the Reserve Bank of India from 1948 to 1930. In 1950 he was appointed Chief of the Economic Division of the Planning Commission of India.
