DONALD L. KEMMERER received his Ph.D. from Princeton in 1934; thereafter he taught at Lehigh University (until 1937) and at the University of Illinois (1937 to the present). His published works include: The Path of Freedom (1940; two revisions of E. L. Bogart’s Economic History of the American People (1942, 1947) and a revision of his father’s book, ABC of the Federal Reserve System. Dr. Kemmerer served as economic adviser to the Republican party platform committee in 1944, to the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1945 and to the Manhattan Research Associates since 1950.
