Russell D. Owen

On the staffs of The New York Sun and The New York Times since 1906, representing the latter as special correspondent at Dayton, Tenn.

Born 1809, died 1882. His epoch-making work, which was published on Nov. 24, 1859, had for its full title “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle of Life”
