American correspondent of the Osaka Mainichi and the Tokio Nichi-Nichi; author of “ American-J apanese Relations ,” “ Asia at the door,” “ Japan in World Politics ,” “ The Real Japanese Question ” and “ Japan’s Pacific Policy .”

Mr. Kawakami has only recently returned to Washington after spending some time last year traveling in Manchuria and China, as well as in Siberia, for the purpose of writing special articles for the Japanese newspapers which he represents in the United States.
