A Comparative Cross-Cultural Model for Studying Health Care in China Available to Purchase

ARTHUR M. KLEINMAN, M.D. is Clinical Research Fellow, Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, and Massachusetts General Hospital; Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, and Associate, East Asian Research Center, Harvard University. He is a psychiatrist with anthropological training doing research and teaching in cross-cultural studies of health care and in medical and psychiatric anthropology. He has done field research in Taiwan and Boston's Chinatown. Dr. Kleinman is the author of a number of articles in professional medical journals on historical and contemporary aspects of medicine and public health in Chinese culture, including health care in the People's Republic of China, and is currently editing a volume on Medicine in Chinese Culture.
