R. JUDSON MITCHELL is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of New Orleans. His major fields of research and writing are Marxist theory and Soviet internal politics. He has written articles for Review of Politics, Orbis, and Current History and has contributed to Communist Party-States: Comparative and International Studies, edited by Jan F. Triska (1969), and Great Issues of International Politics, edited by Morton A. Kaplan (forthcoming). His latest work, which is scheduled for publication this year, is a book entitled New Perspectives on Marx: Essays in Marxian Philosophy and Theory of Society (editor and coauthor).
