ATTILA ÁCH is Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science at the Budapest University for Economics (formerly Karl Marx University). He is the former Director of the Hungarian Institute of International Relations. He has written extensively on the revolutionary transformation of Eastern Europe. His current research interests are centered on the relationship between political democratization and the “Europeanization” of Central Europe.
