Socialist Realism: Cinema and the Arts

ALBERT LEONG is Associate Professor of Slavic Languages at the University of Oregon, Eugene. His writings include numerous essays on film, articles on Russian literature and culture (Gogol', Chekhov, Vyacheslav Ivanov, Nabokov, Sinyavsky-Terts), and a forthcoming book, The Art of Freedom: Ernst Neizvestny and Russian Culture. He received his AB, AM, and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
