DENIS FREII SIMON is the Ford International Assistant Professor of Management at the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he teaches courses dealing with international technology transfer and the global environment for international business. Dr Simon received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining the faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr Simon was a research analyst specializing in technology transfer matters at the National Foreign Assessment Center in Washington, D.C. He has also taught international political economy and East Asian politics at the University of Hawaii, San Francisco State University, the University of Virginia, and George Mason University. His publications include numerous articles on the problems of science and technology development in the People's Republic of China and Taiwan, including a forthcoming book entitled, Taiwan, Technology Transfer and Transnationalism.
