T. R. SHARMA is Reader in Political Science at Panjab University, Chandigarh. From 1962 to 1972 he served as Lecturer in Political Science at Government College Bilaspur, and subsequently as Assistant Professor at Himachal Pradesh University, Simla. His doctoral dissertation at Simla dealt with the Communist Party of India. Dr. Sharma's articles appeared in Modern Asian Studies, Journal of Political Studies, Indian Political Science Review, Socialist India, and Journal of Government and Political Studies. Currently he is engaged in research on local strategies of Communist parties in the West and the Third World.
