JOHN GEORGEOFF is Professor of Education and Chairman, Foundations of Education Section, Purdue University, Lafayette Campus. He received his doctorate from George Peabody College for Teachers, where he studied comparative and international education. He has traveled widely in Eastern Europe under various grants and programs. He is a co-founder of Slavic and European Education Review and a member of its editorial board. The author of eight books and monographs and over fifty articles and chapters in books, Professor Georgeoff's most recent publication (1977) is Bulgaria in the Comparative Education Series of the U.S. Office of Education.
