Sarah Schrank is professor of history at California State University, Long Beach. She earned her PhD from the University of California, San Diego. She is the author of Art and the City: Civic Imagination and Cultural Authority in Los Angeles (2009) and Free and Natural: Nudity and the American Cult of the Body (2019). She is currently working on a book manuscript on the gendered history of wellness in the United States.
