This article analyses recent developments in the Middle East and reviews the role assumed by Turkey and its policies in the area. With regard to the region's future, Turkey has ambitions to be a major power in the decision-making process. The recent crisis in Lebanon sheds new light on Turkey's current relations with Arab countries and the role it wants to play in the future.
