Ho-fung Hung is Associate Professor of Sociology at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. He is the author of Protest with Chinese Characteristics: Demonstrations, Riots, and Petitions in the Mid-Qing Dynasty (2011) and edited China and the Transformation of Global Capitalism (2009).

Iam-chong Ip is Senior Teaching Fellow of Cultural Studies at Lingnan University, Hong Kong. He is the editor of Social Media Uprising in the Chinese-Speaking World (2011).
