Abstract
After the introduction of local autonomy, Korean feminists advocated women's participation in local politics based on life politics and spillover effect. While life politics relies on unverified gender differences, spillover effect is invalid due to the centralized political system. Therefore, local strategy needs to be supplemented with a national strategy.
