The two books we’ve seen from this series are compelling, oversized delights. Animalium by Katie Scott and Jenny Broom, which was first available in 2014 but has been reprinted, features gorgeous illustrations across the animal kingdom, just like an awesome natural history museum at your fingertips. Be forewarned, that slightly incorrect and misleading text and images about the evolution of animals in the first pages mean that discerning biology educators will want to preview this book with the young people in our lives. In all honesty, though, it might be worth taking a razor and cutting out these few pages, because the book is otherwise exquisite. Oceanarium (2021), by Loveday Trinick and Teagan White, seems to have no such problems.
