This book is not a typical field guide or survival guide to edible plants as promoted in the book’s foreword. Instead, this book is a collection of exquisite photographs of edible plants of North America accompanied by brief descriptions. This large format book would fit perfectly on a coffee table or oversized bookshelf to be admired for the wonderfully staged photographs sampling over 100 edible plants found in North America. The author, who is a known photographic artist, spent 16 years creating detailed pictures of edible plants that are presented as full-page pictures. The edible parts of each plant have been given natural color as found in nature, while nonedible parts of the plants are gray. The opposite page has a brief anatomical description of the plant, its range, and uses.
