Thank you for selecting me to serve as your 2021 NABT President. As I get to know you, I thought I would say a few words of introduction about myself.

For twenty-five years, I taught high school biology and chemistry in a rural school in northwest Oklahoma. As a high school teacher, I earned National Board Certification in Biology and a PhD in Science Education. In 2008, I was selected as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow and placed with the National Science Foundation in the Office of Cyberinfrastructure to lead their Learning and Workforce Development program. These experiences led to an opportunity to serve as a science teacher educator for Oklahoma State University in 2009, where I continue to have the honor of working with young adults excited about entering the science teaching profession.
