Erica Cruikshank Dodd’s academic career spans over 65 years and covers a range of topics in late antique, Byzantine, Islamic, and Crusader art. The biographical sketch and bibliography of the honoree included in this volume show that Cruikshank Dodd has been continually broadening her areas of expertise, motivated largely by the monuments in and around Beirut, where she has lived for a large portion of her life. This edited collection of essays is a testament to the impact that her work has had—and is having—on several generations of scholars. The authors offer fresh perspectives on topics, old and new, that focus on the arts of Christian and Muslim communities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
